“Peacock gate (The City Palace, Jaipur) The inner courtyard of the Chandra Mahal has four gates known as Ridhi Sidhi Pol in it. The gates are adorned with themes representing the four seasons. Peacock gate is one of them, the rest three are the Lotus Gate with continual flower and petal pattern suggestive of summer season; the Green Gate, also called the Leheriya (meaning: “waves”) gate, in green colour suggestive of spring, and lastly, the Rose Gate with repeated flower pattern representing winter season. Peacock gate is one of the most famous of the four gates which are depicting seasons, which are leading towards Pritam Niwas Chowk, which symbolizes the monsoon as its symbolizes the autumn season in it. This gate is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This gate is located on the North-East side of the courtyard . This gate is last in the series of the four gates of Ridhi Sidhi Pol.”
