“Awesome experience... child was very happy to know about all the classes of shells and see the innumerable variety and features... must visit for educational purposes.. very reasonable.. better than wasting money in expensive malls.. just some suggestions: There should be a female guard or assistant too to ensure more safety if it gets late in knowing about all the shells.. we reached around 4.15-4.30 so it took us time beyond 6.30. By then, it was already dark outside and it's a big house turned into a museum and me and my child were the only visitor since 4.30.. sometimes the person had to run down to attend other responsibilities.. at that time cameras would ensure safety both sides.. it was very quiet inside.. “We discovered this a very special museum (Alice Garg National Seashell Museum) in Jaipur by chance. It’s a unique museum. Surprisingly not widely known, nor recommended in any sightseeing itinerary, hence I would share with friends & family in Jaipur and to folks visiting Jaipur It’s an awesome museum, brainchild of one lady Mrs Alice Garg (she's 85 years now), day-to-day operations handled by her manager (one man show), located very close to airport in Malviya Nagar. It has thousands of varieties of unique and beautiful seashells from all over the world cataloged meticulously. From very tiny ones requiring magnifying glass to jumbo ones measuring 100+ kgs, from ultra fragile ones to rugged ones. Amazed to see the collection and the science and history behind each. Shaheed Amit Bhardwaj Marg at Malviya Nagar, Jaipur, Alice Garg National Sea Shell Museum is having more than 3000 varieties of Sea shells classified into Rare, Uncommon and Common categories. They have collected these shells from across the globe and preserved them beautifully. The maintenance is really commendable. They also have Live Shells which is worth experiencing for a lifetime memory. The Entry Charges are as follows: Adults - 50/- Students - 30/- Timings 10 AM to 5 PM Thursday Closed.
