“Located in the Churu district and just about 3–3.5 hours from Pilani, Tal Chhapar Sanctuary is, quite literally, a place where you can roam without fear. There are no dangerous predators here; on the contrary, the animals you’ll encounter are shy and will likely keep their distance, often visible only from afar. Known as India’s mini-savanna, this sanctuary is dominated by open grasslands and savanna-type vegetation. The highlight and truly the main takeaway of any visit is the chance to witness hundreds of blackbucks grazing and sprinting across the plains during a safari. The landscape itself feels serene and expansive, offering a very different wildlife experience compared to dense forests. That said, if you are a birdwatcher, you won’t be disappointed. “Tal chapper - Home for deer I have visited this landscape twice. Varieties of species are found in this sanctuary. Nature is at its best here. Polluting vehicles are not allowed inside one has to visit by tanga or government electric vehicle.”
