“Probably the most beautiful trek in Jaipur area. You can hike on top of the old city walls, basically along the former fortification walls. It is absolutely peaceful - we spent three hours all by ourselves. You can either take the route to the south - there you'll face a dead end at Jaigarh Fort (unless you bring your ninja equipment to conquer the Fort, you will have to turn around), yet the views over Amber Fort, the stepwell, the lake, the city and all surroundings are absolutely worth it. Alternatively you can hike around the city northward- also nice,with better city views but even more difficult ups and downs. Tips: - Go in the mornings or evenings - If you don't happen to have a machete, bring a sharp knife or grab a stick along the entrance as thorny branches may block the way occasionally - Enjoy the silence without all the tourists”

“This is a really enjoyable walk on the wall. You can step up still in Amber near the stepp well and at this location is a nice watch tower. You can continue walking up to the Jaigarh fort, but not into it. Really nice views along the way and when we were there (high season), there was no one else. Highly recommend!”
