A HUNDRED YEARS. THOUSANDS OF MILES. UNTIL I MET A GHOST. While visiting Ypres, filmmaker Sachin discovered that 1.4 million Indians served in World War I — many of them sent thousands of miles from home to fight in Europe. He began looking for traces of them. Through archives, letters, photographs, songs and fragments of personal histories, he started piecing together lives that had almost disappeared from collective memory. What began as a journey through Flanders became something much more intimate: an encounter with people separated from him by a century, a continent and a war. Until I Met a Ghost follows that journey — from the archives to the landscape, and from forgotten records to the stories of the people behind them. A lecture about World War I, yes. But also about memory, migration, landscape and the histories that survive in unexpected places. This is our last lecture before the Diwali break. Jaipur, come sit with us for one more. 🎟️ Tickets via link in bio. #jaip
