About this event
Gharwali & Mughal Baccha : Dastangoi by Sunil Mehra
GHARWALI : Ismat Chugtai’s biting, funny, satirical, multi layered, fiercely feminist story about young Lajo : blithe spirit, free radical, sexually subversive woman who upends every norm laid down for “ good” women; seduces the hapless much older bachelor she works for and proceeds to love him , live with him, on her own terms!
MUGHAL BACCHA: Poignant tale of the utterly beauteous, very fair, Gori Begum who marries the saturnine, surly, hugely complexed and very dark Kaley Miyan It’s both a story and a morality tale about how misplaced ego; zid, can literally obliterate people; jettison any prospect of happiness
